Composite materials are being widely adopted in some industries, but the supply chain does not have sufficient capacity to cope as expansion continues. Furthermore there is a lack of preparedness and recognition of the effects this will have on traditional metal-based industries as well as a need for training. The Advanced Composites Training and Development Centre was established as a joint activity between Airbus, Wrexham Glyndwr University and Welsh Government in 2010. The Wrexham Glyndwr University part undertakes training in Composites across a wide range as well as research into new methods of high throughput manufacturing to meet future demands. The research takes place on a national stage with close collaboration with the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre with Boeing and the National Composites Centre.

The event will have two parts:
- In the first composite materials will be introduced. The reasons why composite materials are being adopted then will be explored and explained.
- A tour of the facility and opportunity to see composites being made and tested first hand.

Why should you attend?
The event will give an understanding of the issues involved and the drive to replace metals by composites. It will give an insight into the work of the centre and prove the starting point for support through the transition to using and manufacturing in composites.

Title / TeitlWaste not, want not, don’t bin it, sell it! OR Maximise your bottom line through sustainable thinking.
Date / Dyddiad:2 November 2016 (Tues AM Session)
Location / Lleoliad:Ruthin

Description:CJ Timber have almost made an art form out of combining sustainability with their bottom line. The phrase ‘nothing leaves site without an invoice’ is their mantra.

However the process required to do this well is highly strategic but also quite scientific. CJ Timber will demonstrate their infectious enthusiasm and their success with this IWI visit and show how you can convert ‘waste’ into revenue.

With a special guest slot by Dr Derek Palmer who invented ’Amoxicillin’ and the “low temperature additive to washing powder’ this IWI event is sure to stimulate inventive thinking and delegates will be challenged and encouraged to participate in this interactive session.

CJ Timber will also host the event in a unique way where all materials for the event will be sustainable!

In 2014 CJ Timber received the Daily Post Award for “Growth through Innovation” and in 2013 they were runners up in the Timber industry’s Sustainability category. This Summer they have been awarded a KTP through Bangor University to work upon a novel method of drying “home grown” timber for the construction industry and are also very active in the Welsh Initiative of Beacon (Plants to Energy) program.

With a UK wide profile CJ Timber has been in business for over 60 years, they are the largest machine round timber fence post and timber fencing manufacturer and supplier in the UK with a host of supplementary products all sourced from sustainable forests in the UK.

Disgrifiad:Afrad pob Afraid. Gwerthwch o nid ei daflu o!
NEU Gwnewch fwy o elw drwy feddwl yn gynaladwy.

Mae cyfuno cynaladwyedd gydag elw bron â bod yn grefft i gwmni CJ Timber. Yn wir, mae’r ymadrodd ‘does dim byd yn gadael y safle heb anfoneb’ wedi dod yn broffes iddyn nhw.

Fodd bynnag, mae’r broses sydd ei hangen i wneud hyn yn dda yn strategol iawn ac yn eithaf gwyddonol hefyd. Ar yr ymweliad hwn yng ngofal Nabod ein Diwydiannau bydd CJ Timber yn dangos eu brwdfrydedd heintus a’u llwyddiant ac fe gewch chi weld drosoch chi eich hun sut mae troi ‘gwastraff’ yn geiniogau.

Yn ychwanegol at hyn, bydd y gwr gwadd Dr Derek Palmer hefyd yn ymuno â ni. Dyma’r dyn a ddyfeisiodd ’Amoxicillin’ a’r “ychwanegyn tymheredd isel i bowdwr golchi”. Mae’r ymweliad hwn yn siwr o danio’ch dychymyg. Bydd y sesiwn yn un ryngweithiol, a byddwn yn eich annog a’ch herio i gymryd rhan.

Bydd CJ Timber hefyd yn cynnal y digwyddiad mewn ffordd unigryw gyda’r holl ddeunyddiau yn gynaladwy!

Yn 2014 bu i CJ Timber dderbyn gwobr y Daily Post am “Dwf drwy Arloesi” ac yn 2013 daeth y cwmni yn ail yng nghategori Cynaladwyedd y diwydiant coed. Yr haf yma fe ddyfarnwyd Partneriaeth Trosglwyddo Gwybodaeth iddyn nhw drwy Brifysgol Bangor i weithio ar ffordd newydd o sychu coed “cartref” ar gyfer y diwydiant adeiladau. Roedden nhw hefyd yn weithgar iawn yng nghynllun y fenter Gymreig Beacon (Ynni o Blanhigion).

Bu CJ Timber yn masnachu ers trigain mlynedd ac maen nhw’n adnabyddus ledled y Deyrnas Gyfunol. Nhw yw’r cwmni mwyaf ym Mhrydain sy’n gwneud a chyflenwi pyst ffens crynion wedi eu gwneud â pheiriant ynghyd â ffensys coed. At hyn, mae ganddyn nhw lwyth o gynnyrch ategol wedi eu gwneud o goed sy’n tarddu o goedwigoedd cynaladwy ym Mhrydain.
